Predicting Teachers’ Use of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching
This project examines which teacher and school characteristics predict teachers’ use of artificial intelligence in teaching, using the TALIS 2024 international teacher survey. As AI tools become increasingly visible in education, understanding adoption patterns can help researchers, school leaders, and EdTech organizations identify both opportunities and barriers. The project focuses on a practical data science question: Which teachers are most likely to report using AI, and what factors may help explain differences in adoption?

Responsible AI Use Statement
I used AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to support brainstorming, clarify possible research directions, and organize the project workflow. These tools helped me think through framing, documentation, and communication, but I made the final decisions about the research question, dataset, variable selection, analytic approach, and interpretation.
Expected Outcome
The expected outcome is a public GitHub repository and an Erdos Institute project presentation in July/August.

Applied AI leadership and professional development
AI Leaders Program: Responsible AI Practice and Portfolio Development
Through the AI Leaders program, I developed a more structured approach to using artificial intelligence for professional learning, research communication, and portfolio development. This work helped me connect AI ethics, workflow design, and public-facing documentation.
- Developed an AI ethics statement for responsible, transparent use of AI in academic and professional work
- Experimented with AI-supported workflows for writing, documentation, portfolio planning, and project development
- Built and refined a professional WordPress portfolio to communicate my research, teaching, and AI-related work
