My Approach to AI Ethics
My core stance is that AI should augment human judgment, not replace it. In my own work, I use AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to support brainstorming, organize workflows, and improve communication, while keeping final responsibility for research design, data decisions, analysis, and interpretation with myself. Ethical AI use requires transparency, critical evaluation, and awareness of potential bias, especially in education where AI-related decisions can affect teachers and students. My TALIS project demonstrates this approach: I used AI to help frame and manage the project, but I made the final decisions about the research question, dataset, variables, and analytic direction.
In Practice
- Brainstorming and ideation using ChatGPT and Claude
- Workflow organization through task planning, outlining, and project structuring
- Communication refinement for drafting, clarity, and audience awareness
Final responsibility for research design, data decisions, analysis, and interpretation remains mine.
